Eminem vs. Apple
Eminems Eight Mile Style und Apple haben sich erneut vor Gericht getroffen. Der Streit zieht sich bereits seit einigen Jahren in die Länge. Alles hat mit einem Werbespot von Apple für den Ipod angefangen. 2005 nutzen sie Eminems Hit “Lose Yourself” für den Spot ohne Erlaubnis.

Jetzt geht es aber um einen neuen Fall. Eight Mile Style verklagt Apple aufgrund von Copyright Missachtungen. Nachdem die Firma angeblich 93 Songs aus dem Eight Mile Style Katalog über iTunes illegal angeboten hat.
Die Firma, Apple steht wieder Eight Mile Style gegenüber und baut seine Verteidigung auf den Umstand, dass Aftermath Records den Verkauf, der besagten Songs, zugelassen hat.
Darauf antwortete Eight Mile Style, dass Aftermath kein Recht dazu gehabt hätte.
Dagegen haben die Anwälte von Apple neue Beweise gefunden, die besagen, dass die von Eminem kreierten Ton- und Textaufnahmen 1998 und 2003 Aftermath zugesprochen wurden.
Die Gerichtsverhandlung wurde mit folgendem Entschluss beendet:
“Die beiden Parteien haben sich darauf geeinigt, dass Aftermath und seine Verleger das exklusive Recht bekommen, Eminems Aufnahmen, die seine Kompositionen enthalten, in jeder Form der zurzeit bekannten und noch unbekannten Medien, zu verwerten.”
